HCG Diet Menu- A Sample

by Stephanie

The HCG Diet was developed by the British endocrinologist Albert T. W. Simeons in the 1960’s. He discovered that when combined with a low calorie diet, the patients he treated with low-dose HCG lost fat rather than lean muscle tissue. HCG was initially administered through shots into the leg muscle but it was found to be very risky because when not administered right, it could bring complications and may be dangerous, even when supervised by a trained medical professional. Experts now better recommend Liquid HCG drops because they are just as effective and one has to only place a drop of the homeopathic liquid HCG under the tongue. In hopes to lose their extra pounds, men and women alike have been taking the hormone through injection and oral drops. Many of whom have lost an average of 0.5 to 1 pound per day, which is a very decent amount according to health experts.

The HCG Menu determines the kind and amount of food one is advised to eat while on Dr. Simeons’ protocol for rapid weight loss diet. A portion of Dr. Simeons’ paper, “Pounds and Inches” shows the original 500 calorie a day diet menu. It appears as follows:

Breakfast

Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar. Only one tablespoonful of milk is allowed in 24 hours. Saccharin or Stevia may be used.

Lunch

1.    100 grams of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat. Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed. Chicken breast must be removed from the bird.

2.    One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage.

3.    One breadstick (grissino) or one Melba toast.

4.    An apple, orange, or a handful of strawberries or one-half grapefruit.

Dinner

The same four choices as lunch.

Many clinics and physicians follow the 500-calorie per day diet while some increase the calorie intake to 800 or 1200 calories per day. Others have also come up with their own variations of the HCG Diet Menu Plan and studies have shown success with all of these plans at different levels of average weight loss.

It is highly recommended that one must seek advice from their doctor before going through with the diet plan. If one wishes to adjust the diet menu or may have other concerns regarding menu options and which protocol they are interested to take, they are encouraged to consult a medical specialist for proper guidance.

so you cant make a salad with a variety of vegetables – so you would just have a couple of cups of lettuce?

You can’t mix veggies. You can take your lettuce and wrap it around your protein like a sandwich wrap.

1) Is there a fixed amount of veg that you take per meal or any amount would do?
2) I read that only 1tbsp of milk/ day is allowed in tea or coffee. Does this also apply to skimmed milk?
3) Could we munch on say some carrot or celery sticks in between main meals if hungry?

Thanks!

Yes, there is a set limit to your veggies. If you work with a good provider of HCG they will help you with all of that. And yes, only 1 tablespoon of milk per day, and that includes the skim milk. Milk isn’t very conducive to weight loss. Don’t worry, you can add it back in after the diet, you’ll just know how to do it better. And you can spread out your food so you can have snacks, but they must be from the list. Go to the main page of this site and you’ll see who I use and they can help you with all of this.

is splenda okay

Nope, it actually causes cravings and weight gain. I wouldn’t suggest it even if you were off the diet. Use stevia instead.

Can i use cans of tuna in water and cans of chicken also. in place of chicken breast…..

Yes to the chicken, and maybe to the tuna. You have to weigh it out. I don’t recommend tuna unless you can’t have chicken because tuna isn’t on the list of approved foods.

I am on HCG diet -1st week, I am 6’3 276 lbs-goal weight is 240 lbs. I am eating 500 calories a day as per the diet plan, but am burning roughly 200-250 calories a day doing exercises (walking & yoga). Do I need to replace some or all of those calories with food?

Whoa, don’t count calories. The diet is NOT 500 calories. This is the biggest misconception out there. You don’t count calories. Eat the food from the list in the right amounts. The diet is much higher in calories. If you don’t get the right food in the right amount you will stall. And no need to exercise. If you are doing the diet right you’ll do fine. Get help from a better provider than whoever you are using.

Is there anyway you can have canned spinach?

It’s not on the list so it is a cheat. If you have a good coach and you have a specific reason to use it you can work with them to have it. But don’t try it on your own.
